Time and file limits can be a hassle when trying to publish videos to an online source, especially in schools. The general rule of thumb is to always try to keep your vidoes under 15 minutes as this is the limit on YouTube, arguably the easiest service to upload or share to from any Apple device. However, there are times; spring concerts, class plays, student broadcasts, or that group presentation that may just go over 15 minutes. Well, now there is an easy solution. Apparently all you have to do is verify your Google account with YouTube which will allow you to publish videos that are greater in length than 15 minutes.
To verify your YouTube account, you must visit http://www.youtube.com/verify and sign in using an existing Gmail account. You will be asked to enter your cell phone number (probably just another way that Google wants to keep track of everyone’s information 😉 ) and a code will be texted to you in which you can then enter it into the verification field to extend your account to allow for longer presentations to be uploaded. Just keep in mind, the longer your presentation the longer the upload time, but it sure beats burning a bunch of DVDs for students.
